Integrity

The National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine is persistent in developing a healthy academic culture. Its core principles are integrity, zero tolerance for corruption, and respect for human rights and dignity.

Since 2018, the Academy has actively supported and implemented NATO’s Building Integrity (BI) Program, aimed at promoting integrity, transparency, and reducing corruption risks in defense and security institutions.

To implement successful international practices, the Academy conducts trainings and master classes on integrity with the participation of experts from the EU Advisory Mission and NATO.

Within the BI Program, the Academy’s instructors are involved in conducting trainings for the personnel of the Central Directorate and regional offices of the SSU, as well as in other institutions of the security and defense sector. Training topics include democratic civilian oversight of intelligence services, gender policy, finance, and anti-corruption measures.

Based on this experience, the Academy has developed a training course entitled ‘Ensuring Integrity in the Security Sector’.

In accordance with global higher education standards, the Academy has also developed its own Code of Academic Integrity, which defines key ethical principles of interaction within the Academy and procedures for addressing violations of academic integrity. Violations include plagiarism, fabrication, cheating, as well as deception, receiving undue benefits, and biased evaluation, among others.
