Center for Strategic Communications

The Center for Strategic Communications within the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine was established in 2021. Its creation is the result of long-term activities carried out by the SSU experts in the field of strategic communications.

Our mission is to provide research-oriented and educational support for the training of the SSU personnel, as well as staff of other institutions in the security and defense sector and government agencies, in the field of strategic communications; to develop proactive technologies for countering information and psychological threats from the russian federation; and to unite the efforts of security and state specialists, as well as representatives of civil society, in countering russian aggression.

Our core principles are as follows: proactive principles, objectivity, systematic approach, timeliness, innovativeness, responsibility, and transparency.

Our key areas of activities include:

• training and professional development of the SSU personnel, staff of other institutions in the security and defense sector, and government authorities of Ukraine at strategic, operational, and tactical levels in the field of strategic communications;
• assessment and analysis of information and psychological threats to state security, including conducting linguistic expertise of media and social networks;
• conducting scientific research in the fields of strategic communications, leadership, applied linguistics, and countering historical disinformation;
• developing technologies to counter information and psychological threats to state security from russia;
• uniting efforts of security institutions, the public sector, and civil society to strengthen national resilience.
