Protection of the information and cyber domain is an integral component of state security.
The ability to respond promptly and counter information attacks, cyber terrorism, cyber spying, and to ensure the protection of restricted information is not merely a security trend – it is a demand of the modern era.
The security and defense sector requires specialists capable of creating an effective system of cyber protection for the country’s information resources in conditions of information confrontation and external aggression.
For this reason, training specialists in the field of information security is one of the priority areas of activity of the SSU National Academy.
In 2004, the Educational and Research Institute of Information Security was established, and thus, students’ training was started.
In August 2021, as a result of structural reforms within the SSU Academy, the Institute was reorganized into the Educational and Research Institute of Information Security and Strategic Communications.
Cybersecurity and Strategic Communications Centers were established within its structure. In addition to academic departments, the Institute operates research laboratories for countering cyber threats and for proactive support of strategic communications.
A CISCO Networking Academy has been created at the Institute, where students gain practical experience in configuring and administering network equipment and receive internationally recognized certificates.
The Institute provides specialist training funded by individuals and legal entities.
