Key areas of scientific research at the Academy are as follows:
- activities of the Security Service of Ukraine during special periods;
countering intelligence-sabotage and diversionary-intelligence activities of the russian federation’s intelligence services and its satellites against Ukraine;
- protection of state sovereignty, constitutional order, and territorial integrity; defense and scientific-technical potential; economic, cyber, and information security of the state; and critical infrastructure facilities;
- improving counterterrorism security in Ukraine under the legal regime of martial law;
- countering systemic threats to state governance; documentation and investigation of crimes against the foundations of national security and russian war crimes;
- countering hostile propaganda under the legal regime of martial law;
search, collection, processing, analysis, and use of open-source information in the interests of ensuring state security;
- ensuring security in de-occupied territories of Ukraine;
- sanctions policy to deter russian aggression;
- operational and combat training system for the SSU personnel according to NATO standards;
- reforming and strengthening the capabilities of the Security Service of Ukraine;
- analyzing the genesis of state security provision in Ukraine, among others.
The Academy also provides information-analytical support to government authorities and operational-service activities, implements the results of scientific research in the practical work of the SSU and the educational process, and trains highly qualified scientific personnel.
