Peculiarities of Cadet Training
Everyone can choose a future profession, but it is better to choose a true calling. If you aspire to protect state security and serve in the Ukrainian security service, the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine is the right place for you. It is the only higher military educational institution in Ukraine with a counterintelligence focus that trains cadets – the future officers of the SSU.
Ideal candidates for training are:
- Motivated patriots – those for whom ‘patriotism’ is not a pompous word but a sincere desire to serve and contribute to the state and society;
- Strong individuals – those for whom military training, subordination, and discipline are realities that must be encountered after admission. If you have willpower and are ready to overcome difficulties, adaptation will be easier;
- Eager to learn – there will be a lot of new and unusual material, so, your willingness and readiness to learn is the key to success and professionalism;
- Responsible and persistent – those who are not afraid of challenges, can prioritize, and complete what they start;
- Physically fit/active – it is advisable to develop love for sports even before entering the Academy, as physical training is given special attention to throughout the years of study.
Peculiarities of cadets’ training:
- free of charge education (state-funded) and the opportunity to receive financial support (scholarship);
- full material support: free dormitory accommodation, three meals a day, uniform and equipment, medical care at the departmental medical facility;
- unique professional training: legal and special disciplines, foreign languages, military and specialized physical training;
- 6-day academic week;
- military daily routine (mandatory morning physical exercise, formation before classes, self-study classes, tutors’ sessions, participation in duty shifts, etc.);
- 100% employment: after graduation, all cadets continue military service in the SSU bodies and units;
- upon graduation, cadets are awarded the military rank of Lieutenant, and the years of studying are included into the length of their military service.

K1 ‘State Security’ – counterintelligence activities in the field of state security;
K3 ‘National Security’ – counterintelligence protection of state cybersecurity and critical infrastructure facilities;
B11 ‘Philology’ – translation in the field of state security
