Oleksandr Ivankov was born on 22 August 1986 in the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
He was a Master of Sports in boxing and a winner of international competitions. He worked as a coach in children's sports clubs, always remembering how his own passion for sports from childhood had shaped his character and defined his life values.
After receiving his higher education, he joined the Security Service of Ukraine in 2016. His athletic discipline helped him pass the rigorous selection for the special operations unit. At that time, nearly all fighters of the SSU Special Operations Center “A” were carrying out critical missions in Donbas, and Oleksandr was eager to join his comrades defending the country from the aggressor as soon as possible.
The young “Alpha” operative repeatedly took part in missions in the Joint Forces Operation area, countering enemy militants and terrorists. For his outstanding service, he received a state award from the President of Ukraine and several distinctions from the SSU Special Operations Center “A”.
Oleksandr died while performing complex tasks during deployment. He is survived by his mother and wife.
